“During my entire career as a professional snowboarder I tried to respect as much as possible the true values of this sport. Many have told me I am of a persistent determination and ceaselessly push away the limits of the possibility, and it is true, I am not content with complacency. I try to communicate through my snowboarding by reminding people of the dreams and hopes of their childhood: to be a hero, to become famous through courage, and to distinguish oneself by the nobility of the soul and total dedication to a sport.”

A Q&A With Romain De Marchi

What about the products are you most psyched on and how do they help you?

I love to gear up with the Slytech Backpro XT Naked because it has a great fit and doesn’t keep my from being able to move. The Backpro Nobound 25 is awesome because it’s super roomy and when I go out to ride and film all day I need a lot of shit. This season I had a big crash in Alaska coming straight down from a big line and started tumbling. My back protector was really helpful as well as my backpack, and I was able to pick myself up at the bottom.

What's the perfect day of shredding to you?

Early up in the morning with a sunny day and friends.

Gnarliest or scariest experience riding?

Jumping over the pipe a Straton for the first time during the Burton US Open in 2004.
