“Growing up in Whitehorse, I did a lot of dog sledding, canoeing, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing. I lived out of town so I spent most of my time playing outside. I learned to ski at a fun little hill called Mt. Sima. When I was 11, I did a whole season on snowblades and when I was 12, I got a pair of real skis, joined the Yukon Freestyle Ski Team, and fell in love with the sport.”

A Q&A With Miguel Rodden

What about the products are you most psyched on and how do they help you?

Slytech has some great protective gear. I like the BackPro XT Lite back protector. It’s light and comfortable and gives me the confidence to try new tricks.

What's the perfect day of shredding to you?

The perfect day of shredding to me is waking up early on a bluebird pow day and hot-lapping the mountain. Once the hill is too tracked out, I hop on my park skis and hot-lap the park with my friends.

Gnarliest or scariest experience riding?

My gnarliest moment on the mountain recently was dropping in to do my first switch double backflip. Most nerve wracking trick I’ve ever done!
