Marcus Sandell

Sandell’s life revolves around his fierce passion for being on the mountain, and the feeling he learned years ago standing on his skis. Humbled by his fortune to live his passion as his career, Marcus treasures his time on the slopes above all else, and knows that skiing isn’t just a profession, but it’s a way of life.

“I played a lot of sports as a kid like football, ice hockey, tennis and track & field. None of them gave me the same thrill as skiing. Locking into the skis, pulling those goggles down and feeling the wind on my face skiing down my extremely small home slope was the best thing I could imagine. That has now turned into my profession and it’s something I almost lost once, so I will treasure it until the end. Racing is everything at this moment, but skiing will stay with me forever. In my old days I’ll still be cruising around the mountains in the zone, feeling alive after every turn, jump and especially speed.”

A Q&A With Marcus Sandell

The Jacket Subpro Race XT is perfect protection layer for those times I need to push the limits in a race when I have to cut the line off and smash through a gate with confidence.

What's the perfect day of shredding to you?

What's the perfect day of shredding to you?

On the slopes, definitely the first free run of the day when everything seems untouched. Off the slopes, powder between the trees with high-speed, drops and tight turns is perfect!

Gnarliest or scariest experience riding?

Had to remove my kidney because of a crash so I think that’s my gnarliest experience. Don’t recommend that to fellow Shredders.

The Gran Risa in Alta Badia is the best for a race course. Backcountry Adamants in British Columbia treated me really well.
