A Q&A With Halina Boyd
What's the perfect day of shredding to you?
Exploring the side country of Goryu in Hakuba, Japan has to be one of the most beautiful days I’ve ever had in the mountains. The “feminine” nature of the bulbus pillows and curvy cliff drops made for some of the most flowy and creative riding I’ve ever had the pleasure to partake in. A good crew that has each others back, clear communication and tasty snacks are a must as well!
Gnarliest or scariest experience riding?
I don’t want to glorify the “scariest” experience I’ve had in the mountains because I look at those moments as opportunities to learn and grow and they are always very contextual. There’s an innate risk you assume as a mortal entering the vast and wild environment of the mountains. Preparation through education is key in keeping your wits about you and always expect the unexpected.
